We are looking for a passionate and innovative Sr. Product Manager to support Amazon's Disaster Relief Program. Around the globe, natural disasters affect the communities where our customers, our employees, and their families live and work. When disasters strike, our team helps by leveraging Amazon's product selection, logistics, warehousing, and technology capabilities, while providing channels for our customers and employees to participate in relief efforts. We monitor natural disasters year-round and respond quickly when they occur. We have established mechanisms to launch activations, where we provide corporate product donations, disaster response technology services, and logistics support. We launch, operate, and maintain a series of hubs globally with pre-positioned relief supplies to enable faster disaster response. We create and maintain extensive playbooks to address basic needs during disasters that require constant scaling and adapting.
The position can be based in Munich (Germany) or London (UK).
Key job responsibilities:- Lead disaster relief efforts in the Europe, Middle East, North Africa (EMEA) region
- Manage operations for disaster relief pre-positioning hubs in the region
- Define and iterate over product donation strategy in region
- Coordinate with procurement, vendors, transportation, and logistics partners
- Manage inventory systems for disaster relief pre-positioning hubs
- Create and optimize region-specific delivery mechanisms
- Influence global hub strategy using regional data and experience
- Act as incident command manager for regional relief activations, including stakeholder management
- Drive operational efficiencies across our offerings
- Enhance playbooks and operational excellence standards
About the team: Amazon provides disaster relief by using the company's global logistics capabilities to provide the fastest, most effective aid, such as shipping much-needed items to communities as soon as possible after a natural disaster. We also use our technology to support emergency managers and relief organizations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated product or program management experience at a senior level
- German language proficiency
- Strong operational and project management capabilities
- Proven stakeholder management skills
- Experience with peak management (such as retail holiday season or disaster operations)
- Previous exposure to incident command management during large-scale events
- Familiarity with retail systems, supply chain and inventory management
- Experience in ordering tools, content management and transportation infrastructure
- Track record for operational excellence in program management
- Experience writing playbooks and creating mechanisms
- Ability to train others and roll out company-wide programs
- Entrepreneurial spirit with comfort working in ambiguous environments
- Experience working effectively across cultures and diverse groups
- Passion for disaster relief; direct experience in disaster relief is a plus
