Category Manager, Equipment, Mobility and Infrastructure, Global Procurement Organization (GPO) Amazon EU SARL (UK Branch) - D67London, England, GBR

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Category Manager to join our Global Procurement Operations (GPO) CAPEX Category team. In this role, you will own end-to-end category management for a portfolio of equipment subcategories within our Equipment, Mobility and Infrastructure (EMI) team, supporting Amazon's fulfillment, sortation, and logistics network globally.

You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, drive cost savings, manage supplier relationships, and partner cross-functionally with several teams to deliver best-in-class equipment at optimal total cost of ownership.

Key job responsibilities

  • Category Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute category strategies for assigned equipment subcategories, including market analysis, should-cost modeling, and supplier landscape assessments
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead competitive sourcing events (RFx), negotiate contracts, and drive supplier award decisions for multi-million dollar equipment programs
  • Supplier Management: Own supplier relationships end-to-end; from vendor scouting and qualification through performance management and continuous improvement
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and deliver year-over-year cost savings through negotiation, value engineering and specification optimization
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business requirements and new product development timelines
  • Catalog & Compliance Management: Maintain catalog accuracy, drive catalog coverage improvements, and ensure procurement compliance across regions
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks including single/sole source dependencies, geopolitical exposure, and capacity constraints

A day in the life

  • Earn the trust of key stakeholders to drive alignment with the business
  • Create a category strategy in conjunction with internal customers to ensure there is a comprehensive, unified approach for the category.
  • Achieve yearly cost saving or value targets appropriate to the category aligned with annual budget processes.
  • Define and report on key metrics that measure effectiveness of supply and cost savings
  • Explore and analyze in details business, projects, solutions, technology, and opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our processes and deliver increased value to customer

About the team

The EMI Category team within GPO manages multiple subcategories, supporting all Amazon business lines (CF, SC, AMZL, SSD). We are a high-performing team of category managers who are passionate about delivering world-class procurement outcomes while developing innovative supply chain solutions for Amazon's rapidly growing network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience being responsible/leading large and complex negotiations
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
  • Experience in supply chain
