Amazon Developer is seeking a talented UX Designer to help shape the developer experience for building and submitting applications for Alexa devices. This role requires a strong foundation in user-centered design, technical understanding, and problem-solving skills to create intuitive workflows that empower developers to test and publish their apps seamlessly.
Responsibilities:
- Design user experiences for developer tools and workflows related to Alexa device app testing, submission, and certification processes.
- Create interaction design, visual design, wireframes, and prototypes that deliver delightful developer experiences.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and senior designers to translate requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Support user research activities with developers to understand pain points and workflows throughout the app development lifecycle.
- Design and iterate on developer consoles, dashboards, testing interfaces, and submission portals.
- Apply and contribute to design systems and patterns that scale across developer touchpoints.
- Present design concepts to team members and stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure quality implementation of designs.
- Balance developer needs with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Develop AI automation tools (e.g., Figma plugins with vibe coding).
Qualifications:
- Experience delivering design solutions as a UX or interaction designer.
- Available online portfolio demonstrating design work.
- Experience acquiring user data (conducting usability studies, creating personas, journey maps).
- Experience designing software applications, tools, or web-based products.
- Understanding of technical concepts and ability to communicate with engineering teams.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.).
- Experience in mass-market consumer web/mobile products.
- Experience working collaboratively with developers for implementation of designs.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) to inform design decisions.
