AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support AWS data centres and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
The Data Centre Infrastructure Operations organisation is looking for an individual with proficient computer and communication skills to help support our Facility Operations Centre (FOC). The FOC is responsible for 24x7x365 monitoring of the data centre’s physical infrastructure, operating from a central monitoring location. The team will ensure that the customer experience will be optimal and gratifying by way of consistency, reliability and attention to detail.
You’ll join a diverse team of engineers and collaborate with people across the Infrastructure Operations organisation to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security, while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. The ideal candidate will need to have proficient computer and communication skills. A basic understanding of data centre infrastructure is desired but not essential for this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to on-site data centre teams. This position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. This position is shift based, comprising of day and night shifts that require working on weekdays and weekends. You may also be required to work on public holidays.

You will need to be a UK national and able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.
Key job responsibilities:- Monitor, acknowledge and respond to data centre infrastructure alarms
- Create tickets for infrastructure issues and escalate to on-site teams
- Validate and process change management requests
- Escalate infrastructure issues to external vendors
- Facilitate the response to on-site events
- Serve as a Point of Contact (POC) for internal and external teams
- Assist with the development of communication and escalation protocols designed to improve the team’s performance
- Assist with the development of tools that will enhance the team’s performance
The FOC is a singular support team which proactively monitor the life-safety systems and the infrastructure equipment alarms that provide power and cooling to the platform on a 24x7x365 basis. We support Data Centre Engineer Operations teams who are responsible for the operation of infrastructure equipment. Our role is to ensure that critical alarms are properly Responded to, Acknowledged, Investigated, and Dispatched (RAID). Additionally, the FOC serves as a communications hub during both standard and emergency operations.
