The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is seeking a results‑orientated individual to join in the role of Grid Delivery Manager. In this role you will be responsible for delivering large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have high‑level technical understanding of critical HV/MV infrastructure projects—including substations, cables and overhead lines—and a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in delivering HV & MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization.
The candidate will need to possess strong communication skills and the ability to deliver with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real‑estate teams to ensure delivery to tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director and vice‑president level will be the candidate’s responsibility.
The candidate will drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions and support financial budgeting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus
- Experience building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Travel up to 20% of the time
- Demonstrated ability to operate and thrive with partial information and high levels of ambiguity
- 5+ years of experience in building power substations working with Utilities and understanding their environment and culture.
- Experience in analyzing cost/benefit trade‑offs across a strategic portfolio
- A demonstrated understanding of how to successfully transact business in multiple cultural contexts as well as experience directly managing international teams is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure
- Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
- PMP Certification
- Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
- Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
- Ability to communicate in additional languages
