Manage the device certification team which is responsible for ensuring that every Living Room device (TV, Set-top box, games console) provides a high quality Prime Video streaming experience across hundreds of millions of devices.
Manage the operational support of devices, ensuring that third-party device software updates do not impact the Prime Video streaming experience.
Design, build and support tooling that enables device manufacturers to install, test and monitor Prime Video performance across an install base of millions of customers.
Transition the currently manual certification and support processes to a fully-automated agentic process leveraging Gen AI to create new workflows as required.
Manage the career growth of the team members, including training and transitioning those that want to transfer from support engineering to software engineering as manual steps are replaced with automation.
About the team:
The Device Certification team works directly with third-party device manufacturers (e.g. Samsung, LG, Sony) and distributors to ensure that Prime Video works seamlessly on any living room device across the globe. The team provides tooling to support third-party and internal engineers to certify that Prime Video is running correctly on these devices, and to manage and monitor the software running on them.
Key Qualifications:
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
- Experience managing engineers.
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
