I'm currently working with a highly regarded cost and project management consultancy that is continuing to grow within the Industrial and data centre sector. With a strong pipeline of work - much of it delivering projects for Amazon - this is a brilliant opportunity for an MEP Engineer looking to build a long-term career in one of the fastest-growing areas of construction and engineering.
The Role
This company is looking to appoint an MEP Engineer on a permanent basis, with either a mechanical or electrical bias. You'll be supporting senior engineers and project teams on industrial and data centre projects across the UK. The role will involve travel and occasional overnight stays, with all hotels, travel, and expenses fully paid. Full training and future professional courses can be funded - the key requirement is attitude. They're looking for someone motivated, curious, and willing to get stuck in.
- Support the production and review of technical drawings, layouts, and schematics (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Help with cost planning, valuations, and change control, particularly on MEP packages
- Attend site visits and inspections, reporting on progress, quality, and compliance with specifications
- Assist in the coordination between design teams, contractors, and clients
- Support the review of method statements, technical submissions, and commissioning plans
- Gather, analyse, and organise project data, drawings, and documentation
- Help track project programmes, risks, and deliverables
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes
- Ensure work complies with current regulations, standards, and best practice
- Learn and develop an understanding of HVAC systems, power distribution, lighting, fire systems, and controls (depending on bias)
- Build knowledge of specialist environments such as data centres, critical infrastructure, and complex MEP installations
