Are you passionate about the future of transportation and helping organisations transform how they deliver critical infrastructure and mobility services? Do you have the business acumen and technology leadership background necessary to help establish Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a key technology platform provider across the UK's transport sector? This is an exciting opportunity to drive growth and shape the future of cloud-native technology adoption across some of the UK's most strategically important transport organisations. You will advise senior public sector leaders on technology strategy and drive adoption across a portfolio spanning rail, roads, aviation, regional transport, and regulatory bodies - helping them harness cloud-native analytics, real-time operations management, and AI-powered optimisation to deliver better outcomes for the travelling public.

You will be joining at a pivotal moment. The UK Government is delivering the most significant restructuring of Britain's railways in a generation through Great British Railways, investing £24 billion in motorways and local roads (2026-2030), and empowering city region transport authorities to lead a £15.6 billion regional investment programme. Across every mode, the challenge is the same: do more with existing networks through technology, not just concrete.

You will possess both a customer-obsessed attitude and a deep understanding of how UK transportation organisations operate - from safety-critical operational environments to complex multi-stakeholder governance - and the challenges they face when making technology decisions. You will have the profile and credibility to facilitate high-level engagement with senior government and industry leaders, and an ability to build relationships at all levels within customer organisations, driving tangible outcomes aligned with the government's vision for technology-enabled transport networks. You are a self-starter who wants to build a business, drive measurable customer outcomes, and make a real difference in how the UK moves.

Key job responsibilities

You will help drive revenue growth and market segment share by developing and executing against a comprehensive business development plan for the UK Transport sector. Central to this is creating and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with Transport leaders, while facilitating strong engagement with key officials, policy makers, advisors, and delivery partners across the ecosystem. You will help define AWS' Transport sector strategy, developing and articulating compelling value propositions around AWS services that resonate with the unique challenges of this market. A key focus will be accelerating customer adoption and strategic partnerships - working with global infrastructure providers, system integrators, and ISVs to extend our reach and drive joint solutions. Throughout, you will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, acting as a trusted advisor who balances commercial ambition with genuine customer obsession.

A day in the life

You will present thought leadership and build trusted relationships with senior management teams across the transport sector, positioning AWS as a strategic partner for their most complex challenges. A core part of the role involves identifying and engaging key partners - including global infrastructure providers, system integrators, consulting firms, and ISVs - to extend our reach and deliver compelling joint solutions. You will support builders who develop innovative transportation solutions on AWS, while also understanding the technical requirements of our customers and feeding these insights into our Go-To-Market strategy. Working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders, you will create cross-industry opportunities that connect transport with adjacent sectors such as smart cities, energy, and logistics. You will serve as a key member of the international Transport ecosystem, collaborating with global peers to share best practice and scale proven approaches. Throughout, you will present regular business reviews to the senior management team, communicating progress, pipeline development, and roadblocks to expanding our reach across the industry.
