AMAT have been ever present in the homeless sector offering supported accommodation to the people in Kent, and we are currently looking to recruit 3 Housing Caretakers.

Role Overview

This position is a full-time role requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM. As part of our commitment to providing outstanding service to our users, we operate a 24/7, 365-days-a-year service. Flexibility is crucial, and the role will include working on bank holidays. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver a responsive, efficient, and high-quality void service to our property portfolio. You will manage properties from the point of vacancy to readiness for re-occupation. Key tasks include:

  • Cleaning, clearing, and tagging items.
  • Performing general repairs and maintenance.
  • Painting, decorating, and flooring work.
  • Moving furniture and renewing window dressings.

You will report to the Domestic Operative Coordinator and collaborate closely with the Domestic Operative team.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for proactive individuals who can use their initiative to solve problems and effectively prioritise workloads. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A valid manual driving licence.
  • Proficiency with basic IT tools.
  • Experience in cleaning.
  • Skills in painting and decorating, including patch repairs, surface preparation, bonding, skimming, and wallpapering.
  • Experience in performing general property repairs and maintenance.

Desirable Skills and Training:

  • COSHH training or equivalent.
  • Experience in laying flooring and fitting carpets or lino.
