A secondary school in Redbridge is looking for a candidate who is happy to work within the Science department. You will need to provide technical support and prepare resources for students, along with maintaining equipment and ensuring lessons are carried out safely for students. You will work across the classes to support teaching across KS3, 4 & 5. This would be a great opportunity for anyone who has an interest in progressing into a Science teaching post in the future or looking for some experience prior to exploring other opportunities within this field.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and maintain equipment and teaching areas for specialist classes whilst ensuring a safe learning environment.
  • To support teachers in practical classes and help students as instructed, whilst providing advice during lessons.
  • Maintain and repair tools and equipment and keep an up-to-date inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Order stock and equipment as advised by the teacher in charge of the Science Department and check deliveries and distribute stock as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hold a safety & hygiene certificate or a similar qualification
  • Have a good understanding of the responsibility for personal health, safety, and welfare of students
  • Have good behaviour management
  • Be able to prioritise work schedules and multitask
  • Hold a valid DBS or apply for one
