The Mental Health Lead is responsible for promoting the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all residents within the accommodation setting. The role focuses on safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, identifying welfare needs, responding to safeguarding concerns, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external statutory agencies to ensure residents receive appropriate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding
- Identify, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns involving children, vulnerable adults, and adults at risk.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are recorded promptly and escalated in accordance with organisational safeguarding procedures.
- Complete safeguarding referrals to relevant agencies including Local Authority Safeguarding Teams, Multi Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH), Social Services, and Police where required.
- Work in accordance with statutory safeguarding frameworks including the Care Act 2014, Children Act 1989.
- Participate in safeguarding strategy meetings and case discussions where required.
- Risk Identification
- Monitor residents using risk assessment frameworks including RAG (Red Amber Green) risk rating systems.
- Escalate high risk cases to the Safeguarding Manager or relevant safeguarding leads.
