UK, EU and Iceland based candidates. The Compliance Manager is responsible for helping protect the Company from significant legal, regulatory, financial and reputational risks by maintaining practical and risk-based compliance frameworks across the business. The role focuses on key integrity and conduct risk areas, including bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, securities laws and market abuse, sanctions, anti-money laundering, data protection, licensing, environmental and labour compliance, whistleblowing and third-party compliance.
Reporting to the VP Corporate Legal, the Compliance Manager works across functions including Finance, HR, Procurement, Exploration, Operations, HSE, etc. to ensure appropriate compliance controls, reporting processes and risk management frameworks are in place and operating effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and develop the Company’s compliance framework, policies and procedures
- Build and maintain compliance risk registers and reporting calendars
- Automate compliance administration processes, including reminders, certifications, tracking and reporting workflows
- Monitor key regulatory, covenant and conduct obligations across business functions
- Conduct risk-based compliance reviews and verify operation of controls
- Identify compliance gaps and implement practical remediation measures
- Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes
- Operate third-party / contractor due diligence processes
- Maintain the Company’s whistleblowing framework
- Support a strong culture of ethical and compliant business conduct across the organisation
- Experience in compliance, legal, risk or governance functions, preferably within a regulated, international or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of corporate compliance frameworks and key regulatory risk areas
- Ability to build practical and operational compliance processes rather than purely theoretical frameworks, strong organisational and follow-up skills
- Experience implementing or using automation, workflow or reporting tools to improve compliance administration and monitoring processes
- Ability to work independently across multiple business functions and engage with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation
- Relevant compliance, governance or risk certifications would be an advantage
- Experience in mining, natural resources, listed companies or international operations would be an advantage
