The successful candidate will manage a varied civil litigation caseload, delivering high‑quality legal advice and representation to clients. This role is ideal for a solicitor seeking flexible working arrangements while maintaining hands‑on litigation experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception to conclusion.
  • Advising clients on disputes including (but not limited to):
  • Debt recovery
  • Property and landlord & tenant disputes
  • Professional negligence (desirable)
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
  • Conducting legal research and providing clear, practical advice.
  • Representing clients at hearings where appropriate (including remote hearings).
  • Engaging with opposing solicitors, counsel, courts, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct and firm policies.
  • Maintaining accurate file management and time recording.
  • Contributing to business development where appropriate.
  • Person Specifications & Requirements
    • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
    • Minimum 2 years’ PQE in civil litigation (guideline, not strict).
    • Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
    • Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
    • Client‑focused approach with a high standard of professionalism.
    • Advocacy experience.
    • Experience working in a small or growing practice.
    • Familiarity with case management systems.
    • Business development or client‑handling experience.
