Minimum Requirements

Language: Must be fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.

Education/Experience: Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment. Knowledge of USALI, IFRS, and local accounting standards. Experience with systems such as Opera, SUN System, Adaco, Micros, Oracle Birch Street Systems,

Conduct: Must demonstrate integrity, discretion, and professionalism at all times. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while working cooperatively with all departments.

Abilities: Strong proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and accounting applications (especially Excel). Excellent organizational, analytical, and supervisory skills.

Uniform: Professional business attire is required at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with USALI 12th Edition and local regulations.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and trial balances prior to submission.
  • Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Review and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and review Profit & Loss statements, ensuring departmental allocations align with USALI standards.
  • Assist The Accounting Manager in reviewing and submitting financial statements to the Corporate Office.

Internal Control & Compliance

  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, local tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication and compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise and train accounting staff in daily functions including payables, receivables, and general ledger postings.
  • Review and approve reconciliations and journal entries prepared by subordinates.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance on staff development and cross-departmental coordination.
  • Provide training in other accounting-related areas (Purchasing, F&B Control) to ensure well-rounded departmental knowledge.

Cash & Asset Management

  • Monitor bank reconciliations, petty cash, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Verify the accuracy of cash counts and ensure control over all cash-handling operations.
  • Assist in facilitating and monitoring on the procurement of Capital Expenditures

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of revenues and expenses.
  • Review F&B and Rooms report for accuracy and completeness before closing.
  • Support the Director of Finance in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
