We are now looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our clients Architecture & Engineering practice, supporting productâled delivery teams and embedding modern Agile and qualityâfirst ways of working. This role is embedded with our customer's Londonâbased team, who have a hybrid setup: 1â2 days per week onsite is required in their offices in central London (flexible which days).
As a Senior Test Engineer at Amach, you will act as a quality evangelist within crossâfunctional product teams. You will own testing and quality governance within your domain, ensuring highâvalue, highâquality solutions are delivered through strong Agile testing practices and a shiftâleft mindset. You will work closely with Product Owners, Developers and fellow Quality Engineers to define test strategies, drive automation, and embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Own testing engineering and quality management governance within a product domain
- Champion an Agile, shiftâleft approach to quality across delivery teams
- Define quality criteria and approaches to embed and measure quality across the SDLC
- Collaborate with Product Owners and teams to define Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
- Define and implement test strategies for features and releases, ensuring collective ownership of quality
- Partner with Developers to ensure transparency of unit test coverage and test approaches
- Translate user stories into highâlevel test scenarios aligned to key user journeys
- Identify appropriate test types and optimise testing approaches, including exploratory testing
- Drive and optimise automated test coverage across FE, API and BE layers
- Ensure transparent quality reporting, including automated test coverage and execution results
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, representing the voice of quality in planning, estimation and refinement
- Continuously identify and implement improvements across process, tooling and ways of working
Required skills:
- Proven experience working in Agile product teams, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering
- Strong track record of analysing complex systems and defining effective test strategies
- Handsâon experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA
- Experience with test case management tools such as Zephyr
- Demonstrated use of multiple testing approaches: automation, exploratory and scripted testing
- Ability to design and build automation frameworks from scratch, aligned to the Agile test pyramid
- Automation experience across Front End, API and Back End testing
- Experience delivering endâtoâend, functional, nonâfunctional and regression testing
- Handsâon experience with automation frameworks such as Pact, Specmatic, RestAssured, Playwright or Selenium
- Experience with build automation and testing tools such as GitHub Actions, Gradle, CodeScene and SonarQube
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and quality gates
