We are seeking a Senior GitHub Engineer to play a key role within our customer's Software Engineering leadership team. This is a hands-on senior position with strong influence across the SDLC, focused on embedding modern engineering best practices and implementing a shift-left approach to quality, security and governance. You will act as a subject matter expert for GitHub and associated tooling, partnering closely with engineering leads, platform teams and security to improve developer experience, code quality and delivery outcomes at scale.
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring candidates to work from our client's London (Heathrow) office twice per week.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Required skills & qualifications:
- Solid, demonstrable experience as a Senior Engineer with deep expertise in GitHub (repositories, actions, workflows, governance)
- Proven experience implementing modern SDLC practices, including CI/CD and shift-left approaches
- Robust knowledge of modern coding practices, software quality standards and secure development principles
- Hands-on experience with:
- SonarQube (code quality, technical debt, coverage)
- Snyk (dependency and security scanning)
- Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
- Features on GitHub like Actions, permissions, policies and automation
