We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join our engineering team and help build the next generation of cloud-native solutions for the aviation industry. You will work on cutting-edge AI-powered systems that modernise airline operations, optimise efficiency, and improve passenger experiences globally.

Key responsibilities & duties include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using code (Python, .Net or Java) and microservices on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and deploy cloud-native solutions using infrastructure-as-code principles with Terraform.
  • Design, implement, and maintain event-driven architectures that enable real-time data flow and seamless integration across distributed systems.
  • Develop APIs and services that integrate with existing airline systems and third-party platforms.
  • Implement AI/ML pipelines and data processing workflows to support operational intelligence.
  • Architect and optimise serverless and containerised applications for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, DevOps engineers, and product managers.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices and design patterns.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Contribute to technical architecture decisions and cloud strategy.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise application performance and cloud costs.

Required skills & qualifications:

  • Proven experience building and operating event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, AWS EventBridge, or similar messaging/event platforms.
  • Professional software development experience with Python, .Net or Java to a senior to lead level.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture patterns and microservices design.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency with RESTful API design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred skills & qualifications:

  • Experience in the aviation, travel, or transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems (SQS, SNS, Kafka).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or higher).
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
