Who We Are
TESTBED is a cultural venue in Leeds exploring new ways to bring people together through music, art and ideas. Built as a large-scale, adaptable space, it hosts everything from live shows and club nights to talks and wider cultural programmes. Now moving into its 2.0 phase, TESTBED has evolved in increments - we are now at the phase where we are expanding its programme, growing its audience and shaping a venue that reflects the energy and diversity of the city it calls home.
Part of AMAAD venues, born from a love of putting on parties and building communities, AMAAD has grown from underground raves in 2011 into a company shaped by creativity, culture and a reputation for thoughtful, high-quality production. We’ve brought people together in railway arches, disused shopping centres, landmark institutions like the Royal Albert Hall and Southbank Centre, and even a 19th-century fort on the Albanian Riviera. AMAAD Venues creates culturally significant spaces across the UK, shaped by our passion for music and community.
The Role
We’re looking for a dynamic Marketing Executive to lead the planning and delivery of campaigns across TESTBED’s programme of events, while also playing a key role in shaping and growing the venue’s brand and voice. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who lives and breathes music, nightlife and culture - and who’s excited by the opportunity to work across both event promotion and wider venue marketing.
Working closely with our internal teams, external promoters and agency partners, you’ll be responsible for delivering end-to-end campaigns that drive ticket sales and audience growth, while collaborating with the Creative Director to build TESTBED’s presence as a leading cultural destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and deliver marketing campaigns for TESTBED’s club nights and live shows, working closely with internal teams and external promoters to ensure timelines, creative assets and outputs are met.
- Act as a key point of contact for external promoters and partners, supporting them in building and executing effective marketing campaigns for their events at TESTBED.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, linking digital (paid and organic) results with audience engagement and ticket sales data.
- Support ticketing setup and event listings, ensuring accuracy, optimisation and consistent presentation across platforms.
- Develop and execute integrated campaigns across digital, social, email, print and experiential channels to drive ticket sales and audience growth.
- Create and commission event-led content – including video, photography, copy and short-form storytelling – to promote upcoming shows.
- Manage marketing budgets and campaign spend for events, providing regular reports and insights to the senior team.
- Work closely with artists, promoters and partners to identify content and promotional opportunities that amplify each show.
- Attend and support events regularly, capturing content and gathering audience insights to inform future campaigns.
- Work closely with the Creative Director to shape and deliver TESTBED’s overall brand, voice and marketing strategy.
- Lead on venue marketing and brand development, positioning TESTBED as a key player in Leeds’ nightlife and creative community.
- Grow and manage TESTBED’s owned channels (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, email), curating engaging, platform-specific content that reflects the venue’s identity beyond individual events.
- Oversee website management, ensuring content is current, optimised and aligned with brand messaging and programming priorities.
- Develop and deliver always-on content and storytelling that builds TESTBED’s cultural identity and audience community.
- Identify and develop partnerships and collaborations with artists, brands, collectives, universities and local businesses to grow reach and relevance.
- Manage key agency relationships across PR, digital marketing, web and design, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality output across all channels.
- Oversee email marketing and CRM activity, building audience data, driving engagement and strengthening long-term audience relationships.
- Brief and coordinate designers, photographers and content creators to produce high-quality, on-brand materials for both campaigns and wider brand activity.
- Stay up to date with cultural trends and digital innovation, identifying opportunities to evolve TESTBED’s positioning and marketing approach.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing or campaign management role within music, nightlife, or events.
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end marketing campaigns and reporting on performance.
- Confident managing PR, digital, web and creative agency relationships.
- Strong understanding of the Leeds music and club scene and how to communicate with those audiences.
- Experience managing paid and organic social media campaigns, linking them to ticket sales and engagement outcomes.
- Competent with design and content tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar).
Desirable Experience
- Experience working directly with artists, promoters, or labels.
- Network of local photographers, videographers and content creators.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Substack) and ticketing systems (Resident Advisor, Skiddle, DICE).
