Milk Education is delighted to be working with a warm and welcoming two-form entry primary school in the L23 area, who are seeking a KS1 Teacher for a Year 2 class. This role is ECT-friendly and well-suited to teachers who are either in the early stages of their career or looking to build confidence in a supportive school environment. You will be part of a collaborative KS1 team with strong leadership support, clear routines, and access to experienced colleagues who are happy to guide and mentor. You will have the opportunity to develop your classroom practice while providing engaging, structured, and nurturing learning experiences for pupils.

Classroom & School Support

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum, with support as needed
  • Build positive routines and relationships within a Year 2 classroom
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEN
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
  • Use assessment to support progress and inform planning
  • Support pupils with phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy
  • Work closely with colleagues, mentors, the SENCO, and leadership

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs are very welcome to apply
  • A developing or secure understanding of KS1, particularly Year 2
  • Willingness to learn, reflect, and take on feedback
  • A nurturing, positive, and child-centred approach
  • Confidence to ask for support and work collaboratively
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
