SEND Teaching Assistant - Wakefield

We're currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join on supply in Primary Schools in and around Wakefield in on a long or short-term basis starting in September. This role is on a supply basis and could either be Day-2-Day work or a Longer-Term position depending on preference.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, helping them access learning and achieve their individual targets.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development, encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships.
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of all pupils by following safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
Requirements or Skills:
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a Primary School or similar educational setting.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach with excellent communication skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the Right to Work in the UK.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
