Milk Education is working with supportive primary schools across Leeds who are now recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for September starts.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, learning delays)
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Help pupils manage routines, behaviour, and social interaction
  • Deliver tailored support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
  • Create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment for pupils
  • Use strategies from psychology, education, or your own experience to aid learning and behaviour
  • Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

What We're Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you have

  • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, SEN, care, tutoring, sports coaching etc.)
  • A patient, calm and resilient approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable — but no formal TA qualifications are required.
