Graduates with a passion for working in education to join Primary Schools and educational settings in and around
Wakefield , on a long or short-term basis starting in September.
This role is on a supply basis and could either be
Day-2-Day work or a Longer-Term position , depending on your preference.
This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates looking to build valuable experience within education , particularly those considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, child development, SEND or pastoral support .
You’ll be joining supportive, inclusive schools that put children's wellbeing, development and education at the centre of everything they do. It's a great opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience , develop your professional skills and become a familiar face within a school community.
Your main responsibilities will include
- Support pupils with their learning and development on a 1:1, small-group or whole-class basis.
- Work closely with class teachers and school staff to support pupils and contribute to a positive classroom environment.
- Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development , encouraging confidence, independence and positive relationships.
- Assist with classroom activities, interventions and learning tasks to help pupils achieve their individual targets.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and encouraging engagement with education.
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of all pupils by following safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
Requirements or Skills
- A degree or relevant higher education qualification , ideally in
Education, Childhood Studies, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or another child-related subject.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people and an interest in developing a career within education.
- Previous experience working with children is desirable, but not essential
- this could include volunteering, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or placement experience.
- A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach , with the confidence to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills .
- A willingness to learn and develop your understanding of education, safeguarding and inclusive practice .
- An
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- (or willingness to obtain one) and the
Right to Work in the UK .
