Are you a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting for a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in North Durham this September. You'll be joining a supportive community where inclusion, teamwork and putting children first are at the heart of school life.
Whether you're newly qualified with a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or looking to build your classroom experience, we'll take the time to understand your strengths and find the right environment for you.
Your Role
- As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher to help pupils feel confident, supported and ready to learn.
- Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
- Helping deliver engaging and practical classroom activities
- Supporting the class teacher with lessons, resources and learning activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
- Creating an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported
What We're Looking For
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Education or a similar subject preferred
- Previous experience working with children or in an education setting preferred
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A positive, caring and confident approach
- Ability to follow the class teacher's direction and work effectively as part of a team
- Most importantly, a genuine passion for helping children learn and thrive!
