Milk Education are recruiting for purpose-driven, compassionate
SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools and specialist settings across the
Trafford area.
You'll be joining schools that are dedicated to providing inclusive education, helping every child overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced SEND Teaching Assistants and those with transferable experience to make a genuine difference by supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
What You'll Be Doing in the Role
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and speech & language needs.
- Supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Building positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
- Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teachers and the wider school team.
Essential Qualifications
- Recent and relevant experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs is advantageous.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach with excellent communication skills.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
