Drama & Arts Teacher who wants to make a real difference to young people? We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring teacher to join a specialist
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Stockport SK12 area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to use
Drama, Performing Arts and creative subjects to engage pupils who may face barriers to learning.
You will help young people develop confidence, communication skills, emotional expression and positive relationships within a safe and supportive learning environment.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging
Drama, Performing Arts and Arts lessons .
- Adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with
SEMH, SEND, Autism and ADHD .
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Use creative activities to encourage self-expression, confidence and emotional regulation .
- Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Support positive behaviour through consistent, nurturing and restorative approaches.
- Encourage pupils to develop communication, teamwork and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and SEND teams.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans where required.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Holds
QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification .
- Has experience teaching
Drama, Performing Arts, Art or a related creative subject .
- Is passionate about using creativity to engage young people.
- Has experience supporting pupils with
- SEMH, SEND, Autism or ADHD
(desirable).
- Can adapt lessons to accommodate a range of abilities and learning needs.
- Is confident managing behaviour in a calm, consistent and positive manner.
- Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
- Is creative, resilient, adaptable and enthusiastic.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
