Milk Education is seeking caring, supportive and dedicated Learning Mentors and Pastoral Support professionals to work across a range of schools in Stockport and Tameside from September.

We're looking to connect with Learning Mentors, Pastoral Support Workers, Behaviour Mentors, Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers and other professionals who are passionate about supporting children and young people both inside and outside of the classroom.

Our schools may be looking for professionals to support pupils with SEMH, behaviour, confidence, emotional wellbeing, engagement and wider barriers to learning.

With a wide range of opportunities available, we're open to speaking with candidates looking for long-term, short-term, part-time, full-time, temporary or permanent positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group pastoral support
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support pupils with their social and emotional development
  • Help children develop confidence, resilience and independence
  • Support pupils experiencing barriers to learning
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
  • Help pupils develop strategies for managing emotions and challenging situations
  • Work alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and other professionals
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience in a school, pastoral, youth work, education or support setting is desirable
