Year 4 Teaching Assistant – Standish

Milk Education is working with a primary school in Standish (WN6) who are seeking a full‑time Year 4 Teaching Assistant to work 1‑2‑1 with a child in Year 4 who has Autism.

This Year 4 Teaching Assistant role is starting in September 2026 and will be a temporary, long‑term role.

The school is looking for someone with good behaviour management and who is also patient, nurturing, and accommodating to the child’s learning needs. The hours of work are 08:30‑15:30, Monday to Friday.

This role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child’s needs are being met. You will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch‑up sessions

Requirements or Skills:

  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
