About the Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Milk Education is working in partnership with a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across South Tyneside to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity whether you are:

You’ll be supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
As a TA, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day life of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
- Supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Preparing classroom resources and supporting general classroom organisation
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers
What We're Looking For in a Teaching Assistant
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children's lives. Ideal candidates will have:
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
- Previous experience working with children (schools, nurseries, youth work, or care settings)
- A strong understanding of safeguarding
