Flame Cutter Operator in Smethwick

Flame Cutter Smethwick £15.00 - £18.50 per hour (depending on experience) Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm – Paid lunch break and overtime available.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating oxy‑fuel flame cutting equipment on heavy gauge steel materials.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Measuring, marking, and preparing materials for cutting.
• Producing accurate cuts to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Supporting fabrication and welding departments with prepared materials.
• Conducting routine equipment checks and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures relating to hot work activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Flame Cutter.
• Proven experience working with heavy gauge steel.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
