We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Primary Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school community in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Working alongside our dedicated teaching staff, you will play an important role in creating a positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils' learning across the primary age range, both in the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils' confidence, independence and wellbeing.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.

We Are Looking For

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children (school or similar setting).
  • Is enthusiastic, patient and committed to supporting children's learning.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative.
  • Has a good standard of English and mathematics (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) or is willing to work towards one (desirable).
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
