Secondary Art Teacher

Milk Education are seeking a creative, passionate, and resilient Art Teacher to join a forward-thinking department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. The role will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 Art, delivering engaging practical lessons across a range of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Develop students' creativity, technical skills, and confidence in artistic expression
- Teach a range of techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Manage classroom and studio environments safely, ensuring correct use of materials and equipment
- Use assessment data to track progress and support student development
- Encourage experimentation, individuality, and creative thinking
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
- Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in Art - able to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
- Strong classroom management skills
- Good subject knowledge across a range of artistic media and techniques
- Ability to inspire creativity and engage students of all abilities
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
