A friendly and inclusive primary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and supporting them to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Provide classroom support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
- Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups.
- Support children with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
- Help deliver engaging learning activities alongside the class teacher.
- Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and social development.
- Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has previous experience supporting children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
- Has experience working with children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs or SEMH (desirable).
- Is patient, compassionate and committed to helping every child succeed.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children within a UK primary school.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
