SEN Teaching Assistant
Milk Education are working with an inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their classroom team from September.
The successful candidate will provide classroom-based support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and develop greater confidence and independence.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom.
- Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
- Support pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
- Reinforce strategies and targets set by the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Support pupils with their social and emotional development.
- Adapt resources and activities where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
About You
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- SEN experience is desirable.
- Patient, calm and consistent approach.
- Confident supporting pupils with a range of needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passionate about inclusive education.
- Reliable and committed to supporting pupil progress.
