SEN Teacher - Stockton-on-Tees

Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools and specialist settings across Stockton-on-Tees and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEN Teachers to join schools from September 2026.

We have a range of long-term, full-time opportunities available, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You’ll play a vital role in delivering personalised learning, supporting pupils with additional needs, and creating an inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Adapt the curriculum to support pupils with SEND.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress.
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and learning needs.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff.
  • Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs where required.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and classroom practice.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEND practices and inclusive teaching.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs is advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach.
  • Passion for making a positive difference to children's lives.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
