SEMH Teaching Assistants to join SEN schools across Derby, working on a long-term or short-term basis, starting in September.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide

1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning.

  • Support pupils\' emotional regulation and social development throughout the school day.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to promote a calm environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to track progress and reinforce consistency in support.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working with children or young people with
  • SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging situations.
