Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Rotherham to recruit a talented and enthusiastic English Teacher for a full‑time position starting in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who is passionate about English and committed to inspiring students to develop a love of reading, writing, and literature.

The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and strong academic achievement.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured English lessons that cater to students of all abilities.
  • Foster a love of literature, language, and creative writing through innovative teaching approaches.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate and succeed.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing targeted support to help every learner reach their potential.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Work collaboratively with the English department to develop schemes of work and share best practice.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues to support student progress and wellbeing.

About You

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English.
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Can inspire, motivate, and challenge learners of varying abilities.
  • Possesses excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one through Milk Education.
