We're currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to work across various primary schools throughout Salford, with opportunities available starting ASAP on a day-to-day, short-term or long-term basis.
You'll have the opportunity to work across a range of caring, inclusive and aspirational schools, supporting pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing while gaining valuable experience across different year groups and settings.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning across the primary curriculum.
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning effectively.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs and SEND.
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and communication skills.
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
- Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to engage positively with their learning.
- Working alongside teachers to implement individual support strategies and learning plans.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a positive role model.
- Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.
- Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation and general day-to-day activities.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, SEND staff and the wider school team.
- Upholding safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of all children and young people.
Requirements or Skills:
- Previous experience supporting children within a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs would be highly advantageous.
- A genuine passion for helping children learn, develop and reach their potential.
- Patient, empathetic and nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
- A flexible, adaptable and reliable approach to working across different school environments.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
