The Role


As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.


You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential while contributing positively to the wider life of the school.


Key Responsibilities



  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged learners.

  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, events, and school initiatives.

  • Fulfil professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards.


Essential Requirements



  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience of teaching within a primary school setting (including successful teaching placements for ECTs).

  • Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum.

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

  • High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • A willingness to contribute positively to the ethos and values of the school.


Desirable



  • Experience of teaching across different primary age phases.

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.

  • Knowledge of phonics and early reading strategies.

  • Experience using assessment data to raise pupil attainment.

  • A subject leadership specialism or willingness to lead an area of the curriculum.
