Primary Teaching Assistant - Rochdale

I'm currently recruiting for enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Rochdale. I have opportunities ranging from day-to-day supply to short-term and longer-term placements, giving you the flexibility to find a role that works for you.

About the School
You'll be joining a supportive Rochdale primary school that places a strong emphasis on creating a nurturing, inclusive and engaging environment for its pupils. The school values teamwork and strong relationships between staff and pupils. You'll work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and feel confident in the classroom.
Your Responsibilities
- Work alongside the class teacher to support daily learning
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions
- Support pupils during lessons and independent activities
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where appropriate
- Encourage positive behaviour and good learning habits
- Support classroom organisation and preparation
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote pupil wellbeing, confidence and independence
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience working with children is desirable
- Previous school or classroom experience is advantageous
- Passion for supporting children and helping them achieve
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
- Ability to support a range of learning needs
- Good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Reliable and professional approach to working in schools
