Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children in the Early Years? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Richmond is seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Reception class from September on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a Reception‑aged pupil with additional needs, helping them develop confidence, communication skills and independence while working as part of a supportive and experienced school team.

The Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Reception with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
  • Supporting learning through play and structured classroom activities
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional development
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
  • Strong EYFS experience, ideally supporting children in Reception
  • Experience working with children with SEND, including Autism (ASC), speech and language needs or communication difficulties
  • A patient, caring and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping young children reach their full potential
