We are currently recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across a network of Primary Schools in Redcar on a range of flexible and long-term placements.

Teaching Assistant main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group intervention sessions to help pupils achieve their learning goals.
  • Delivering tailored academic and pastoral support to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Encouraging an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and able to participate.
  • Assisting with the preparation and adaptation of classroom resources to support high-quality learning.
  • Helping to create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes pupil wellbeing.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement, and independence.
  • Supporting positive behaviour by following school policies and classroom expectations.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents where appropriate to support pupil progress.
  • Recording observations and providing feedback to teaching staff when required.

Teaching Assistant requirements or skills:

  • Recent experience working within an educational setting.
  • Confident literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (CACHE, Childcare, NNEB) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting children within the classroom.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a school team while following the direction of teaching staff.
