Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Darlington to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher for a full‑time, long‑term supply role starting in September 2026 .
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate PE specialist to join a successful department where you will inspire students to develop a lifelong love of physical activity, teamwork and healthy living. The role is expected to continue for the academic year, with the potential for extension or a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
You will:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Encourage participation, confidence and resilience through a range of sporting activities.
- Create a positive and safe learning environment for all students.
- Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND.
- Contribute to extracurricular sport where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching PE within a UK secondary school.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Is passionate about promoting health, fitness and student wellbeing.
- Has strong communication and organisational skills.
- Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for every student.
