Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Wakefield that is looking to recruit a passionate Drama Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. Your creativity, confidence, and ability to build strong relationships can have a lasting impact on pupils with a range of additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist setting while supporting children to develop their communication, confidence, and independence. The Role

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication and interaction needs
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Use drama, storytelling, role play, music, and creative activities to engage and motivate pupils
  • Support pupils to develop communication, emotional regulation, and social skills
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN team to support individual learning plans
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
