About the Role:


Milk Education is recruiting a creative and organised Art and Design Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in Oldham. This Art and Design Teacher opportunity involves delivering fine art, textiles, and 3D design projects across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school in Oldham provides well-equipped studio spaces, kilns, and modern digital design software. As an Art and Design Teacher, you will inspire students to build comprehensive sketchbooks and prepare high-calibre GCSE portfolios. Secondary schools in Oldham value practical subject delivery that fosters pupil expression and technical skill.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Delivering practical art, illustration, and design lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Guiding GCSE Art students through portfolio building, exam boards, and final exhibitions.

  • Maintaining studio equipment, art supplies, and health and safety protocols.

  • Encouraging pupil engagement through creative lunchtime and after-school art clubs.


Requirements or Skills:


  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) specialising in Art, Fine Art, or Design.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GCSE Art and Design assessment objectives.

  • Proven ability to teach a wide range of media including painting, printmaking, and sculpture.

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
