Milk Education is working with a primary school in Orrell (WN5) who are seeking a full‑time Nursery Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher in an EYFS setting. This role is starting immediately and will be a temporary, long‑term role until July 2026, with a possibility of continuation into the new academic year from September 2026.
The school is looking for someone who is caring, patient, nurturing and accommodating to all children's needs and who is happy to support with personal care (nappy changing). The hours of work are 08:30 am – 15:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
This role will involve supporting the class teacher in the day‑to‑day set‑up and running of the EYFS classroom, ensuring all children are kept on task and learning to their full potential. Responsibilities include:
- Getting resources ready for the day
- Providing a patient and nurturing learning environment for every child
- Supporting children with SEND, whose additional needs range from Autism to Complex Needs
Role & Responsibilities:
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
- Personal care with children
- Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
- Deliver catch‑up sessions
Non-negotiables:
- Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
- Must have a passion for education
- Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
- Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
- Must be reliable and punctual
