We are currently recruiting for a confident Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school situated in Nottingham on a flexible, long-term, or day-to-day basis. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive Cover Supervisor looking to build meaningful classroom management experience within a modern secondary environment located within the Nottingham area. You will be joining an inclusive, student-focused school community that prioritises pupil wellbeing, strong relationships, and positive behaviour.

As a regular Cover Supervisor in Nottingham, you will become a consistent, reliable presence across the school day. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading whole-class lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in the absence of the timetabled teacher.
  • Delivering pre-set work, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and keeping pupils focused and engaged.
  • Upholding high expectations for learning while creating a structured, positive classroom environment.
  • Responding to individual student needs and supporting with general queries across a range of subject areas.
  • Providing clear, comprehensive handover feedback to regular teaching staff at the end of each session.
  • Working collaboratively as a trusted Cover Supervisor alongside departmental heads and pastoral teams in Nottingham.

Requirements or Skills:

  • Prior experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), sports coach, or youth mentor with secondary-aged pupils.
  • Confident behaviour management skills with the ability to build quick rapport and de-escalate disruption.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Degree-educated or holding relevant educational qualifications (ideal for aspiring secondary teachers).
  • Available to commute easily to our partner secondary school based in Nottingham.
