We are currently hiring Teaching Assistants to join Primary Schools based across North Durham.

Teaching Assistant: Main Responsibilities

  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
  • Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
  • Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies

The role of a Teaching Assistant is one which is incredibly rewarding.

You have the chance to support and encourage students through their education and make it a positive transition into further learning.

The forefront of your responsibility will lie in small group and 1:1 work, providing additional support for those who need it.

Teaching Assistant: Requirements or Skills

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar β€” or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning
  • Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
