Milk Education is working with welcoming and supportive schools across Durham and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for qualified teachers to join our supply team throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

Whether you're looking for 1-2 days a week, a few days around other commitments, or simply more flexibility, we can help you find supply work that works for you.

You'll have the opportunity to work across a range of Primary and Secondary schools, gaining valuable experience while keeping control of your schedule.

What could you be doing?

  • Deliver engaging lessons across your chosen year groups and subjects.
  • Follow existing lesson plans and school guidance.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Support pupils with their learning and development.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
  • Adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments.
  • Provide reliable day-to-day cover when schools need you.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for teachers who have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent experience teaching in a school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach.
  • A passion for supporting children and young people.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
  • Completion of the required KCSIE safeguarding training/course, or willingness to complete this as part of the onboarding process.
