Milk Education is working with welcoming and supportive schools across Durham and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Behaviour Mentors to join schools throughout the 2026/27 academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to put your degree into practice, gain hands-on experience and make a genuine difference to young people who need additional support.
What will you be doing?
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and confidence.
- Encourage positive choices and independence.
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
- Support pupils with SEMH, SEND, ADHD, autism and additional needs.
- Use calm and consistent approaches when managing challenging behaviour.
- Work alongside teachers, pastoral teams and other school staff.
- Encourage pupils to engage positively with learning and school life.
Who are we looking for?
We're particularly interested in graduates with degrees in:
- Psychology
- Education
- Criminology
- Sociology
- Childhood Studies
- Counselling
- Youth & Community Work
- Health & Social Care
- Other relevant subjects
You don't necessarily need previous school experience. We're looking for graduates who are empathetic, resilient, patient and passionate about supporting children and young people.
Any previous experience in youth work, care, support work, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering or working with children would be highly beneficial.
