Milk Education is looking for a calm, patient and positive Behaviour & Wellbeing Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in
Durham .
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and wants to help children feel safe, understood and ready to learn .
You’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may need additional help with emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence and engagement .
Whether you have experience in education, youth work, childcare, sports coaching, mentoring or community work, we’d love to hear from you!
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Helping children develop strategies to manage emotions and behaviour.
- Supporting pupils to re-engage with their learning.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where needed.
- Encouraging positive communication and conflict resolution.
- Promoting positive behaviour and celebrating progress.
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
- Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive school environment.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is...
- Patient, calm and emotionally resilient .
- Confident working with children who may display challenging behaviour.
- A strong communicator who can build relationships.
- Positive and consistent in their approach.
- Experienced in education, childcare, youth work, mentoring or similar — desirable but not essential .
- A graduate, aspiring teacher or someone with volunteering/placement experience working with children.
- Passionate about helping young people reach their potential.
